Move something out of your life for 21 Days from January 7-27 to devote more time and attention to prayer.
We strongly believe in the power of prayer. This is why we desire to start this year off with 21 days of prayer and fasting - pressing into God so we know His love, know His presence, and fulfill our calling.
WAYS TO FAST?
There are many ways to fast:
- a full food fast (for a meal, a day, a week, or 21 days),
- a partial fast (like the Daniel Fast below),
- fasting from social media, TV, entertainment etc.
The Lead Team at Resonate along with several Ministry Team Leaders will be doing a Daniel Fast and we'd invite you to join us for the first 21 days of 2019.
THE DANIEL FAST
The Daniel Fast entails eating only fruits and vegetables. The following food outline is taken from daniel-fast.com.
Foods to include in your diet during the Daniel Fast
All vegetables. These can be fresh, frozen, dried, juiced or canned. Veggie burgers are an option if you are not allergic to soy.
All whole grains, including but not limited to whole wheat, brown rice, millet, quinoa, oats, barley, grits, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat tortillas, rice cakes and popcorn.
All nuts and seeds,
All legumes. These can be canned or dried.
Other: tofu, soy products, vinegar, seasonings, salt, herbs and spices.
Foods to avoid on the Daniel Fast:
All meat and animal products
All dairy products
All leavened bread including Ezekiel Bread (it contains yeast and honey) and baked goods.
All refined and processed food products including but not limited to artificial flavorings, food additives, chemicals, white rice, white flour, and foods that contain artificial preservatives.
All deep fried foods
All solid fats including shortening, margarine, lard and foods high in fat.
Beverages including but not limited to coffee, tea, herbal teas, carbonated beverages, energy drinks, and alcohol.
